The fate of Tobacco mosaic virus introduced into Tobacco leaves. Dissociation of Tobacco mosaic virus particles immediately after infection of Tobacco leaves

The fate of Tobacco mosaic virus introduced into Tobacco leaves. Dissociation of Tobacco mosaic virus particles immediately after infection of Tobacco leaves

Ann. phytopath. Soc. Japan 35(1): 21-24; 25-28

Examination of fractionated homogenates from tobacco leaves inoculated with 32P-labelled TMV showed that radioactivity in the 600 g centrifugation fractions (P1) decreased, but increased in the 105, 000 g fraction (P3) until 6 hr after inoculation, when the process was reversed. The fate of TMV immediately after entering host cells is discussed. b.
