The genetical basis of hereditary immunity to the new race of leaf-mould fungus Cladosporium fulvum Cooke in the tomato varieties V-548 and Vinequeen

The genetical basis of hereditary immunity to the new race of leaf-mould fungus Cladosporium fulvum Cooke in the tomato varieties V-548 and Vinequeen

Bulletin de L'academie Polonaise des Sciences. Serie des Sciences Biologiques 17(2): 109-113

Vinequeen and V548, which are immune to all known races, were crossed with Summerdown. VR Wisconsin 55 and VFN8, which are susceptible to all races of C. fulvum but resistant to other pathogens. The F2 generation of each cross was divided into two groups. one of which was inoculated with the mixture of races 0. 1 and 3 and the other with the new race X. From the F2 data, it appeared that V548 and Vinequeen have the same complex of genes, Cf1, Cf2, Cf3 and Cf4, for resistance to the races used.
