The geographic variation of spring-frost resistance and growth cessation in Norway Spruce, Picea abies (L.) Karst

The geographic variation of spring-frost resistance and growth cessation in Norway Spruce, Picea abies (L.) Karst

Medd. Norske Skogforsoksv 27(1): 96, 91-106

An anatomical study was made on 10 four-year-old plants from each of 389 populations of different provenances grown at Halstenbek, N. Germany. Characteristics measured included frost rings, lignification, and annual ring width. Results agreed with those of other Scandinavian experiments.
