Abstract
56 eight-wk-old Dorset Down x Border Leicester/ Corriedale lambs were randomized to either perennial ryegrass or lucerne for 7 wk before slaughter. Seven lambs on each pasture received weekly injections of 336 mu g diethylstilboestrol. Lambs grazed on lucerne grew 0.37 kg per day v 0.21 kg per day for lambs on ryegrass, and were 7 kg heavier at slaughter.
