The mineral fertilizing of beans. XII. Effects of liming and of nitrogen and phosphorus on a reddish yellow latosol soil in the Ribeira valley

The mineral fertilizing of beans. XII. Effects of liming and of nitrogen and phosphorus on a reddish yellow latosol soil in the Ribeira valley

Bragantia, 28: 71-83. bibl. 3

Beans were grown on a recently deforested soil of pH 4.34, with and without magnesian limestone, and with and without N and/or P, added factorially at 3 different levels. The K application was uniform throughout. Yield data are tabulated for 2 consecutive years. The average increases due to lime and P were 94 and 72%, respectively, their action being synergistic. The response to P2O5 at 50 kg./ha. was as great as that to 100 or 150 kg./ha. There was practically no response to N.
