Perennial ryegrass, white clover or a 50: 50 mixture of the 2 species were fed ad lib. or on a restricted basis to Romney wether hoggets. Animals were weighed after a 24-h fast at the beginning and end of the 94-day feeding trial. The clover was more digestible and its N content was 20% higher than that of the ryegrass feed.
