The physiological and biochemical nature of heterosis as a basis for the elaboration of diagnostic methods for matching maize pairs in crossing for heterosis

The physiological and biochemical nature of heterosis as a basis for the elaboration of diagnostic methods for matching maize pairs in crossing for heterosis

Heterosis in plant production, Stavropol', 5-15

Hypotheses on the nature of heterosis are briefly reviewed. A new hypothesis is proposed in which it is postulated that heterosis is related to the biochemical and physiological heterogeneity of the parents.
