Unsatisfactory control of house-flies (Musca domestica viclna Macq.) obtained recently in some districts of Saitama Prefecture, Japan, where synthetic insecticides such as DDT, gamma BHC (lindarle), dichlorvos and diazinon have been widely used against flies for some 20 years, was assumed to be due to the development of resistance.
