Tordon (4-amino-3,5,6,-trichloropicolinic acid) used at the rate of 2 lb./acre has given almost complete control of Canada thistle and at the rate of 3 lb./acre of field bindweed in trials in the North Central states. Treatment may be made more or less independent of season or stage of growth of the weeds and control remains reasonably effective for 2 years. Little injury is shown by cereal crops the year following treatment.
