Transverse mechanical properties of Douglas Fir treated with organic liquids. I. Dimensional changes. II. Compression properties

Transverse mechanical properties of Douglas Fir treated with organic liquids. I. Dimensional changes. II. Compression properties

Holzforschung, Berlin. 22: 2; 3, 44-50; 69-77

(I) Previous work on the effects of liquids on the dimensions of wood is reviewed and results are given of experiments with 19 organic liquids on the radial and tangential dimensions of 12 small blocks of green wood (on which little previous work has been done) cut from each of 3 trees of average growth.
