Groups of 3-4 cows (daily milk yield, 20-25 kg) or heifers (yield, 13-14 kg) received per cow in 4 expt. (each lasting 56-84 days) similar daily rations of 35-40 kg grass or beet top silage, 2 kg dried grass, 2 kg dried sugar beet pulp, 2 kg hay and concentrates (4-6 kg) according to milk yield.
