Variation and covariation of some anatomical characters of the wood of Norway Spruce in relation to basic density

Variation and covariation of some anatomical characters of the wood of Norway Spruce in relation to basic density

Mitt. BundesforschAnst. Forst- u. Holzw, 60, 120

A statistical study, with the aid of a computer, on 8 outer rings of 10 trees from a 65-year stand, of the interrelations of density and 15 anatomical characters. Characters varied much more between than within trees. There were clearly defined trends in the axial direction, but any radial trends were masked by weather influences, and aspect was not significant.
