Variation in the fat content and other characters of Lebedin and Jersey cows and their crossbreds

The 4% F.C.M. yields of Lebedin and Jersey cows, and 1/2-Lebedin and 3/4-Lebedin crossbreds with Jersey (10 in each group), were 3265, 4070, 3791 and 3515 kg resp.; fat yields were 130.6, 162.8, 151.6 and 140.6 kg, and the milk protein yields were 104.7, 99.0, 105.1 and 110.8 kg. When the fat content of the Lebedins was corrected to a 4% F.C.M. basis, the fat yields of the 1/2 and 3/4 Lebedins were 105.1 and 110.8 kg v 104.7 in the purebreds.
