Varietal relationships in available sugar content as affected by period of harvest

Varietal relationships in available sugar content as affected by period of harvest

Proc. 12th Congr. int. Soc. Sugar Cane Technol., Puerto Rico, 474-8. bibl. 3

Using curves of the monthly average 96 degrees sugar yield of 7 important sugar cane varieties compiled from 5 years' records, 4 harvesting schedules were prepared and tested. The results indicate that scheduling the varieties to be harvested at different times of the year would yield appreciable gains in average sugar per ton of cane. -South P.R.
