Application of different vaccination regimens for the control of Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) in cattle dairy herds

Application of different vaccination regimens for the control of Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) in cattle dairy herds

Large Animal Review 13(4): 147-152

The survey, carried out in the period 2000-2006, is aimed at providing indications regarding different control regimens to IBR, in particular the vaccination, in cattle dairy herds. Seroepidemiological data on 1,896 unvaccinated herds pointed out that BoHV-1 infection is widespread, involving over 50% of the herds. Among the different IBR vaccines, marker vaccines are widely applied (43% of the vaccinated herds) even if the combined vaccines are yet widespread (36% of the vaccinated herds).
