Changes in endogenous hormone content and its relation to sucrose accumulation in sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.)

Changes in endogenous hormone content and its relation to sucrose accumulation in sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.)

Southwest China Journal of Agricultural Sciences 20(3): 392-394

Experiments were conducted to determine dynamic changes in endogenous growth regulator content and sucrose content in sugarcane in 3 sugarcane cultivars, i.e. Co331, Guitang11 and Yuetang93/l59, at the ripening period. The results indicated that from 0 to 40 days in ripening rally period, the content of IAA, ABA and seatin of the 3 sugarcane cultivars decreased and at this time, the GA3 content increased to the highest level and sucrose content increased gradually.
