The chemical composition of leaf celery (cv. Afina) leaf blades and leaf stalks was determined in the field studies conducted in Poland during 2001-02 and 2005. The leaf blades contained 19.0-19.7% dry matter, 17.8-19.9 mg/100 g vitamin C, 63.9-68.3 mg/100 g chlorophyll a, and 32.4-33.1 mg/100 g chlorophyll b. The content of essential oil in the leaf blades was 0.26-0.43%, and 0.09-0.25% in leaf stalks.
