Sweet potato chlorotic fleck virus (SPCFV) was detected in mixed infection with Sweet potato feathery mottle virus (SPFMV) and Sweet potato virus 2 (SPV2) in tests on a plant grown from a sweet potato sample obtained from the Australian Capital Territory. SPFMV - strain O (SPFMV-O) was detected in a plant grown from a sweet potato sample from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia. Presence of SPCFV, SPV2 and SPFMV-O was confirmed by ELISA, RT-PCR and sequencing of the viral coat protein gene. This constitutes the first report of SPCFV and SPFMV-O in Australia.
