According to sequence in Genbank published, a pair of oligonucleotides primers appropriate for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification were designed based on the two conserved regions of the 5'end of the gene encoding the S protein of TGEV. The length of the target fragment of the primers was 690 bp. A reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay was developed for the detection of TGEV after optimization of the reaction conditions.
