A study was undertaken in Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India, during rabi 1999-2000 to investigate the effects of different irrigation regimes, plastic mulch and their interaction on okra Vijaya. The treatments comprised 3 levels of irrigation at available soil moisture depletion of 25% (I1), 50% (I2) and 75% (I3) with and without polyethylene mulch, and farmers practice as the control. The polyethylene mulch used was a black linear low density polyethylene, having 15 micron (60 gauge) thickness.
