Effects of increasing dietary crude protein levels on nitrogen balance and metabolizable protein requirements for maintenance in Nellore cattle

Effects of increasing dietary crude protein levels on nitrogen balance and metabolizable protein requirements for maintenance in Nellore cattle

Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia 36( 4, Suppl): 1212-1217

ISSN/ISBN: 1516-3598

The study was conducted to determine the effects of increasing dietary crude protein levels on nitrogen balance and metabolizable protein requirements for maintenance of Nellore heifers, bulls and steers at 16 months of age with body weight of 254.8, 285.1, and 265.6 kg, respectively. The animals were blocked by gender (heifers, bulls and steers) and randomly assigned to treatments in three replicates of 4x4 Latin squares.
