Effects of potassium content of flue-cured tobacco leaf on the contents of resistance-related compounds in flue-cured tobacco leaf and wild fire disease incidence

The relationship between wild fire disease (caused by Pseudomonas syringae pv. tabaci) in the field and resistance-related physiological parameters of flue-cured tobacco was studied in China. In general, the K content was 1-4%; only a few samples had a K content of >4%. At a K content of 2-4%, the total phenol and flavonoid contents, and peroxidase activity increased. The wild fire disease index decreased as the K content increased.
