Efficacy and economics of some modern insecticides, bioinsecticides and neem-based formulations against pod borer, Helicoverpa armigera, in pigeon pea

The efficacy of indoxacarb, spinosad, carbosulfan, endosulfan, 2 Bacillus thuringiensis-based insecticides (Halt and Biolep), and 3 neem-based formulations (Nimbicidine, Neemarine and Achook) against H. armigera on pigeon pea Pusa-992 was evaluated in Dehradun, Uttaranchal, India, during the kharif of 2005 and 2006. Indoxacarb was the most effective in the reduction of crop damage, followed by spinosad and carbosulfan.
