Land tenure and types of farm business organization among Illinois farms with $2,500 or more sales of products in 1974







Individual or family proprietorships accounted for 89 percent of the farms and 84 percent of the land in Illinois farms in 1974. partnerships accounted for 10 and 14 percent respectively, with corporations of all kinds numbering only 0.6 percent of the farms and 1.5 percent of the land. out of a total of 28.3 million acres in these farms, 15.5 million, or 54.8 percent, were rented from others.
