Magnitude-frequency relation of earthquakes and its bearing on geotectonics

Magnitude-frequency relation of earthquakes and its bearing on geotectonics

Proceedings of the Japan Academy 38(1): 27-30

Differences in the rate of increase in frequency of earthquakes according to decreasing magnitudes from one region to another are shown to be systematically related to differences in the tectonic characteristics of the respective regions.
