Alpine tectonic movements within the limits of the northern Black Sea and the basin of Karkinitskiy Bay are shown. Main features of Cretaceous, Paleogene, and Neogene lithofacies are established. Development of the region under investigation during the Alpine stage was defined by basement structure, tectonic processes taking place in the Crimean-Caucasian geosyncline region and adjacent Black Sea Depression, and by roof-block uplifts of the Ukrainian Shield.
