Effect of foliar application of agroboom on leaf production in mulberry and silkworm cocoon production

A study was undertaken to see the effectiveness of foliar application of Agroboom (0.3%) on growth and yield of mulberry and silkworm cocoon production. In case of variety VI and S 36 response was positive on all the growth and yield parameters studied that ultimately resulted in increased leaf yield and above ground biomass. Leaf yield increased by 12.83% in variety VI and 23.62% in variety S 36. In case of varieties K2, S13 and S34 all the growth parameters, leaf yield and above ground biomass production were negatively affected by Agroboom foliar spray. Bioassay studies reveal that by feeding leaves collected from agroboom treated V-1 plants resulted in increase in cocoon yield by 5035% and effective rate of rearing by 17.56%.
