GIGAMAP (German-Italian Geological Antarctic Map Programme); geological-structural survey in the 1:250,000 USGS quadrangles Freyberg Mountains, Mount Joyce and Relief Inlet

Terra Antartica Reports 2: 43-45

The geological-structural survey in northern Victoria Land is aimed to the print of geological maps on the basis of the Antarctica 1:250,000 Reconnaissance Series quadrangles by USGS. During the XII ItaliAntartide expedition the field activity focused on the regions comprised in the quadrangles Freyberg Mountains, Mount Murchison and Coulman Island to the north, and Mount Joyce and Relief Inlet to the south. The work in the other three quadrangles already partly surveyed during the previous expeditions, resulted in the completion of the geological mapping.
