Genesis of explosion breccia-type gold deposits and their emplacement mechanism as exemplified by the Qiyugou gold deposit, Henan

The Qiyugou gold deposit in Henan was hosted in the explosion breccia pipes. Gold mineralization was dated at Late Yenshanian and its ore-forming material came from granitic magma at depth with a minor amount of meteoric water involved. Crystallization-differentiation of the magma at depth led to "secondary boiling" of late hydrothermal fluids, followed by the explosion and collapse of rock bodies. As a result, explosion breccia pipes were formed and ore-forming fluids found their way into the breccia pipes and cemented breccias because of the phase separation of fluids in response to the drop of temperature and pressure during explosion. Repeated fluid boiling, explosion and precipitation would lead to the formation of the explosion breccia-type gold deposits.
