Abstract
One of the factors deteriorating the quality of surface and ground waters are chemical waste dumps. The toxic substances are gradually leached from the deposited waste to further leak out to the soil and water environment. The paper presents the results of chemical analyses of waste and the leakages. The substances that might migrate and pollute the environment have been selected. Based on the presented physico-chemical analyses the authors performed spatial distributions of contents of selected indexes in ground waters around the dump. With the obtained results it was possible to assess the tightness of the dump.
