The history of magnetic geophysical investigations upon the southern Atlantic Coastal Plain is traced, an incomplete map of part of South Carolina is presented, and a few hypothetical geological structures or lithological alignments [features parallel or transverse to Appalachian trends] that may be reflected in the plotted magnetic data are pointed out.
