Mineral chemistry of tetrahedrites from Lanping-Simao vein copper deposits, Yunnan

Electron microprobe analysis was conducted to study the composition of tetrahadrites from Lanping-Simao vein copper deposit, Yunnan Province. Experimental results showed that tennantites are dominant and tempo-spatial variations in composition of tetrahedrites are noticed in these deposits. The content of Ag is positively correlated with that of Sb and negatively with that of Cu in tetrahedrite. The results presented in this paper are of important significance in establishing the genesis model of and providing new clues to this type of copper deposits.
