Multiparameter appraisal of geochemical anomalies for oil and gas exploration, and their applications in northern China

Changchun Keji Daxue Xuebao = Journal of Changchun University of Science and Technology 28(3): 288-295

Some multiparameter anomaly appraising methods of geochemical prospecting for oil are introduced, including the MAA method, the MPV method, the MAD method, the method of D function, and the MAV method. Satisfactory results are achieved in their application to an oil field in North China. It is shown that the possibility of success for the geochemical anomalies to match the oil reservoir is higher than 50 percent. An overlapping model is proposed for the exploration of oil reservoirs.
