Abstract
In the Turpan-Hami Basin, hydrocarbon reservoirs have been discovered in the Turpan Depression, where two main sets of source rocks developed, and three types of oil and gas were generated. Tabei-type oil and coal-type gas were generated from the Middle and Lower Jurassic coal measures. Yilahu-type oil and oil-type gas were generated from the Permain and Triassic lacustrine mudstone. Huoyanshan-type oil and transition-type gas have a mixed source, and are distributed in the overlap area of the two sets of source rocks.
