Prediction of maximum magnitude and original time of reservoir induced seismicity

Prediction of maximum magnitude and original time of reservoir induced seismicity

Acta Seismologica Sinica (English Version) 14(5): 556-563

The prediction of potential maximum magnitude and origin time of reservoir-induced seismicity is discussed. Changes in seismic frequency with time were studied using a grey method, and the time of the biggest change is taken as the original time of the main shock. The feasibility of methods for predicting magnitude and time was tested for reservoir-induced seismicity in the Xinfengjiang Reservoir, China, and the Koyna Reservoir, India.
