Problems in data processing of surface geochemical exploration of hydrocarbons

The multi-element statistical method is commonly used in data processing of geochemical exploration of hydrocarbon. The problems in data processing should be noticed, such as pre-processing of data, choice of distorted data, optimization and classification of indexes, choosing number of trend surface and determination of low-limit anomaly, which has important effects on calculation and interpretation of research results. This paper discusses problems in data processing of geochemical exploration and provides ideas and methods for solving these difficulties, which makes processing results more credible.
