Relation between number of minerals and number of mineral-forming chemical elements in mineralogical objects

Relation between number of minerals and number of mineral-forming chemical elements in mineralogical objects

Pages 258-263 1998

For the Earth minerals (3844 species), the exponential dependence of the number of mineral-forming elements n from the number of mineral species m in a sample is established. A comparison of curves m-n of the Earth and curve for the Ilmen Mountains, meteorite and burnt dumps of the Chelyabinsk coal basin is carried out. The analysis of the causes for species burst for the last object is given.
