"The Nagahama sand and gravel, i.e., the basal or marginal part of the Narita group is probably Pleistocene in age, while the Higasihigasa mud, sand and gravel which is a part of the basal or marginal beds of the Akimoto subgroup, may safely be considered to be Pliocene.. The writer can not determine exactly the age of the middle and upper divisions of the Akimoto subgroup in any way.".
