Three new species of Sunius from Sicily are described: S. ignatii n.sp. (l. typ. Ficuzza), S. georgii n.sp. (1. typ. Monti Nebrodi, Malabotta Forest) e S. martinarum n.sp. (l. typ. Monti Iblei, env. of Noto). The geographical distribution of Sunius species in Italy is reported. The taxonomic status of some species from the Western Mediterranean region is discussed in relation to the species from Sicily. Sunius murciensis (Coiffait, 1980) is considered the valid name for S. nitidus sensu Coif-fait, 1973 (not Quedenfeldt, 1881). A lectotype is designated for S. politus (Quedenfeldt, 1883).
