Ctenosaura clarki is a lizard stenotrophic species, ecologically restricted by two environmental factors: annual middle temperatures above 260C and average annual precipitations less than 1000 mm. It is found in opend arid scrub forest. This species is endemic to the Rio Tepalcatepec Basin (Michoacan), and Rio Balsas Middle-Low Basin (Guerrero-Michoacan).
