The study of a sample with 11 females and 10 males of the genus Apterogyna Latreille, 1809 (Hymenoptera, Bradynobenidae), collected in Namibia and Transvaal between 1978 and 1986, revealed 6 species: schultzei Andre, 1909 ( female ); miniaticotnis Enderlein, 1901 ( male ); climene Peringuey, 1896 ( female ); karroa Peringuey, 1914 ( male ); mnemosine Peringuey, 1898 ( male ); meridiooccidentalis Bischoff, 1920 ( female ) as well as a new one: hesseiana ( male ), herein described.
