The chromosome polymorphism in the Mongolian vole Microtus mongolicus Radde 1861

Karyotypical analysis of 28 female and 18 male Mongolian voles, M. mongolicus, from 2 populations in Mongolia USSR showed that the diploid chromosome number was 49-50. Several specimens from 1 population (Khantai ridge area) demonstrated a polymorphism for 2 types of chromosome mutations (duplication and centric fusion), in which the 1st pair of acrocentrics is involved.
