The heat resistance of Hydra oligactis Pall. at different stages of blastogenesis

Using genetically uniform (clonal) material, heat resistance of hydra at different stages of blastogenesis was studied. The bud forming organisms are more resistant to over-heating than budded-off individuals. With the development of a bud the difference between the heat resistance levels of the maternal and unbudded-off daughter organisms decreases, and the percent of mother-daughter pairs characterized by identical heat resistance increases. The aging of budded-off individuals has no effect on heat resistance of the organism.
