Taxon 57(1): 303

This paper presents proposals (1800-1802) to conserve the name Viburnaceae (Magniliophyta), the name Adoxaceae against Viburnaceae, a 'superconservation' proposal, and, as an laternative, the name Sambucaceae. In summary, Proposal 1800 is necessary to enable continued use of Viburnaceae when Viburnum is considered to form a family of its own. For those who consider that the genera discussed form a single family, proposal 1801 would ensure the continued use of Adoxaceae.
