A study was made on regeneration and degeneration of the spinal cord of Rana esculenta after complete and partial sections at the spino-bulbar junction level during the survival period of from 1 to 18 months. No symptoms of regeneration of the nerve fibers were observed in spite of an absence of glial barrier. Degenerative changes in the nerve fibers were observed only in the immediate vicinity of the injured area, whereas the nerve cells were as a rule very well preserved.
