Effect of expander extruder processing conditions on physical characteristics of sunflower heads based complete diet



Indian Journal of Animal Research 41(4): 250-255



The effect of barrel temperature, added moisture, flow rate and steam pressure (expander extruder processing conditions) on pellet quality of 2 sunflower head-based complete diets varying in roughage proportion was studied. The physical characterization of the product was made by measuring moisture content in hot pellets, maximum load force in a puncture test and physical evaluation.
