On The Agranular Cells In The Pancreatic Islet Tissue Of The Marine Teleost Cottus Scorpius

On The Agranular Cells In The Pancreatic Islet Tissue Of The Marine Teleost Cottus Scorpius

Acta Pathologica et Microbiologica Scandinavica 60: 47-54

The pancreatic islet tissue of the Cottus scorpius contained the usual 3 types of islet cells, and parenchymal cells lacking cytoplasmic granules. This special type is found in the peripheral region of the principal islets and constitutes the bulk of the parenchyma in the mesentery islets and around the 2 principal islets. Investigation indicated that these agranular cells may be young, immature forms of other islet cells.
