These three families are grouped because of their hypermetamorphic development and parasitic habits. Bombyliidae: key to subfamilies and Chilean genera; Mythicomyia pusillima d" (p. 168), Uruguay; MALLOPHTHIRIA (p. 169). near Phlhiria, type M. lanata [male] (p. 170), Chile; Ligyra koslowskyi [female]* (p. 171) ; Anthrax melanogaster Bigot, referred to Aphoebantm; the following spp. of Anthrax are referred (p. 174) to Villa: hyalinipennis Blanch., caloptera Phil., argentiflua Phil., pallipes Big., gayi Macq., and lemniscala Phil.; Villa durvillei (Anthrax d. Macq.) (p. 174) ; V. albifacies (A. a. Bond.) (p. 174) ; V. quadricincta (A. q. Rond., = A. obscuripes Bigot) (p. 175) ; the type of Paranthrax Bigot becomes P. chilensis (Anthrax c. Phil.) (p. 176) ; [Anthrax] calogastra Phil. is referred to Paranthrax. Nemestrinidae: Triclioph-thaima, key to Chilean spp.; T. amoena Bigot ( = Eury-gastromyia niveicdncta Lichtw.) ; T. glauciventris [female]* '(p. 183)' and T. sexmaculata [male] (p. 184), Chile; T. phil-ippii, T. piclipennis, and T. nubipennis are new records from Chile Cyrtidae: key to Chilean subfamilies and genera; Megalybus is considered distinct from Thyllis; a remarkable feature in the genus is sexual dimorphism; M. obesus Phil. [female] (-M. trislis Phil, d"). redefined; .1/. crassus Phil. [female]*(=M. gracilis Phil. [male]*, Thylli*. philippii Schiner [female]), redefined; M. pictus Phil. [male] (=M. xubcylimlricus Phil. [male]) ; Panops Erichson ( = Mesophysa Macq., Epicerina Macq.) ; Lasia Wied. is maintained as distinct from Panops; Lasia, key to Chilean spp.; Holops Philippi, type designated as H. cyancus Phil.
