Capillary permeability in the skin of the rabbit

Capillary permeability in the skin of the rabbit

Trypan blue 0.2% soln. injected intraven., rapidly localized in the skin where xylol was last applied, usually where the xylol application was made less than 5 mins. before intraven. dye inj. The amt. of dye that localized decreased with an increase in the time interval between the application of the irritant and the dye inj. Intraven. staphylococcus antitoxin, diphtheria antitoxin, vaccine virus, and Neoprontosil localized when given immediately following the application of the irritant. Ether and alcohol anesthetized rabbits failed to show a localization of trypan blue within the same time as the unanesthetized. India ink and trypan blue concentrated in areas of the inflamed skin only when injected immediately or within a period of less than 5 hrs. after the dermal application of the xylol although the skin continued to show all the changes associated with inflammation.
