Chemical analysis of bacterial polysaccharides. VIII. Studies on extraction procedure and monosaccharide constituents of the antigenic polysac-charide of Pasteurella pseudotuberculosis rodentium

Chemical analysis of bacterial polysaccharides. VIII. Studies on extraction procedure and monosaccharide constituents of the antigenic polysac-charide of Pasteurella pseudotuberculosis rodentium

Japanese Jour Bact 12(2): 95-99

Monosaccharide constituents of the purified O antigen polysaccharide of P. pseudotuberculosis rodentium were investigated by paper chromatography and compared with those of D group Salmonella organisms which share the O antigen 9 with P. pseudotuberculosis rodentium. Glucose, galactose, xylose, arabi-nose and rhamnose were found; of these, glucose, galactose, and rhamnose occur also in D group Salmonella.
